SIMPLY FASCINATING!
My little hiatus, or, I should say, my extended hiatus from prolific blogging has led me to some interesting places, both outside and inside the World Wide Web. One truly fascinating place inside the WWW is the essay on humanity's position in the biosphere written by George Ball titled, "The Neo-Luddites." (The essay appeared in the Wall Street Journal as "Naturalism Has Been Hijacked.")

As for the linked essay, I find it fascinating that what these "neo-Luddites" don't realize, is that their entire world view, one steeped in deep, deep moral indignation, is possible only because humans are moral creatures with a sense of right and wrong. Absent that, then by all means, let the natural world, the world without God, the world of Darwinism, take over.
Fine. I'm ready for that, too. Let the best species win and devil take the hindmost.
As I've said to many of these folks, "I piss in a latrine. Bison will piss en masse in the Madison River in the middle of Yellowstone National Park. Who's the better 'Eco Warrior?'"
