You should saunter on over to Infinity Hotel, an essay managed with eloquence and capacious insight by Touchstone contributor Anthony Esolen. Can I erase from infinity's face the fact that I embarrassed myself at Mr. Esolen's fine forum by posting an utterly lame -- and probably heretical -- comment? Numbers, for me, really are numb-ers, if you get my drift. I mean, when I go to the dentist, I don't ask for Novocaine, I ask for numbers.
I would also suggest yesterday's Opinion Journal post by James Taranto, particularly the tragic and ironic story about the collapsed sewer system in Gaza. I have a gut-feeling that the whole story reported by Taranto -- with the help of the Jerusalem Post -- will not get much play. It is all very sad.
Peace this day.
