The Donor MUST Be Cheney! The Company MUST Be Halliburton!

Continuing to maintain consistency with many of his predecessor's policies, President Barack Obama announced today that he has awarded a no-bid contract worth $25 million to a company owned by one of his biggest sponsors.

The White House is ecstatic in the wake of this decision.

"Let me be clear: People need to know I inherited this sort of deal-making when I came into office last year," the President said from the Oval Office, "and, because of the transparency essential to a vital democracy, I have taken the necessary steps to ensure the American public will not know about this sort of thing again."

Many have wondered if the donor was Dick Cheney, as critics of the former vice president often railed against him for his alleged ties with Halliburton, known as the very lair of Satan (and the setting for Dante's Inferno), which enjoyed no-bid contracts during Bush's War of Choice. Mr. Cheney could not be reached for comment, as he was too busy burying more "tectonic weapons" off the coast of Haiti.

Mr. Healy,

Thanks for the comment.

This administration is so blinded by zeal for its own ideology it has the audacity to perceive the Massachusetts "revolt" as a referendum on Bush's presidency and typical Washington shenanigans. But the fact is staring them in the face: The voters are rejecting the White House, Pelosi and Reid.

And if the voters are thinking about Bush at all, which they aren't, I would suspect they are thinking how much better off they were when he was in office. Besides, with Obama constantly setting his presidency against Bush's, Obama is inadvertently keeping Bush in the public square.

By the way, how ironic that Obama denounces Bush at every turn and yet seeks Bush's help with Haiti. How can this be, when Bush was proven by progressives everywhere not only to be incompetent, but the very enemy of all humanity?

Nice.

I'm sure that as long as we swing back and forth between wrong courses of action, we'll continue to fall behind in the world.

What Obama is doing was wrong when Bush did it, and it will be wrong if he continues doing it until 2016. Otherwise, a Republican will replace him in 2012 and continue the cronyism. It's all just different brand names for the same shit.
